COMMERCIAL LIGHTING DESIGN

Once all data is collected on site, the lighting consultant will work with our expert designer to lay out the new lighting system and specify all products to be installed.  At this time, he will include lighting controls such as occupancy sensors, daylight sensors, skylights, etc… 

 

Each product recommended will be based upon the balance between best lighting output for the space, maximum energy savings and maximum rebate qualification.  It would be easy to just recommend the best, most energy efficient and expensive lighting products available but we strive to find the proper balance between cost and benefit that our customers can afford.  We look for the be ROI when considering the products to be recommended.

Increase in Light Output:

We find that most businesses have inadequate lighting.  The light output is usually insufficient for the task being performed in the area and the type of existing lights are usually old, use high wattage, and such are costly to operate.  We design the new lighting to fit the task of the area.  In every case, our new LED lighting is brighter and provides more light than the existing lighting.

Electric Savings:

It’s a challenge today to maintain profits in any business.  Ever increasing costs typically exceed increasing revenues, leaving the business owners with less and less profit each year.  There are few opportunities for permanent cost reductions that do not affect the quality of your product, service or employee work load.  Installation of LED lighting is one such opportunity.  Reduction of your electric costs directly increases your profits, without incurring any additional costs such as labor, cost of goods sold or overhead.

INSTALLATION
Our installers are all licensed and insured electricians.   On the morning of installation, our lighting consultant will meet the installation crew at the client’s facility for the purpose of walking the job and reviewing the fine details of the planned work.  Each day the installation is in progress, the consultant will stop by the site to monitor its progress.  Upon completion of the installation, the consultant will return to the site to perform the final inspection.
 

Warranty:

All of the materials are guaranteed by the manufacturer, some for up to 10 years.  Many of our LED fixtures are warranted for 5 years (each product carries it's own specific warranty).

Our labor is covered under warranty for 1 year but can be extended to match the full term of the product warranty. Ask your Energy Coach for more details.

REBATE PROCESSING

Utility and State rebates largely depend on the specifics of the new lighting installed.  We design each new LED lighting system to maximize the rebates for each customer.  We strive to find the lowest “net cost” to the customer (project cost – rebates).

​

Typically, the right solution to the above is the one combination of products and design that yields the highest Return on Investment (ROI).  Your total project cost less rebates received is considered your investment and the annual electric savings the project yields is considered your financial return.  ROI is calculated as follows

Due to the high amounts of rebates available today, coupled with the opportunity to replace costly inefficient lighting with new LED technology, we are seeing ROI’s typically of 40% to over 100% on most projects.  Often, the ROI on our lighting upgrades exceeds the ROI the business makes on its own services, making the investment of the customer’s capital in a lighting upgrade more profitable than their business itself.

Once we get the go ahead from the client, we file the necessary applications and specifications with the local utility company, ensuring 100% compliance with their rebate program.  We are thoroughly experienced in dealing with PSEG Long Island, Consolidated Edison and NYSERDA which insures our client will receive the greatest rebate possible for the work performed.
